About the Kapolei Properties Division (KPD) of the James Campbell Company

The Kapolei Properties Division (KPD) of the James Campbell Company LLC is at the helm of the concerted effort to develop the City of Kapolei area. The work of building Kapolei is moving forward as new businesses are attracted to Kapolei's enormous long-term potential for growth and whose investments are fueling job creation and economic activity in the region.

The James Campbell Company LLC continues its long-standing commitment to the development of Kapolei. These efforts began in the 1950s with the development of a master plan for the region, which moved from the drawing board to reality with groundbreaking for the city's urban core in 1990.

Now, a little more than 20 years after groundbreaking, not only is Kapolei the fastest growing area in the state, it is also well on its way to becoming a major urban center. In fact, projections show that by 2025 there will be nearly 8 million square feet of commercial space and 65,000 jobs in the Kapolei region.

Central to the company's success is what it brings to the table. It has its roots in the private trust, the Estate of James Campbell, which became the James Campbell Company LLC in 2007. For more than a century, the Estate nurtured and expanded the assets of the trust from exclusively Hawaiian real estate holdings to a diversified portfolio that has properties in Washington, D.C. and 15 states across the United States. This legacy is one of business acumen, an ability to recognize and seize opportunities for growth, the discipline to manage change and thrive in challenging and volatile economic climates, and an abiding commitment to contribute to the economic well-being of the communities it serves.
